A Modern Stage for Tradition: Villiger Cigars at PCA 2025

By Humberto Areas, Creative Director at Cigar Package Design

The Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show 2025 brought the cigar world together in the vibrant city of New Orleans from April 11–14, and once again, we at Cigar Package Design had the honor of partnering with Villiger North America on their latest booth presentation.

A Refined Booth with a Modern Touch

This year, Villiger embraced a refreshed, contemporary aesthetic—a departure from previous showings, but a move that felt perfectly timed and thoughtfully executed. The booth featured a crisp white palettegolden geometric accents, and tasteful blue-and-gold trim that exuded sophistication. This lighter, brighter design created an elegant canvas for showcasing their newest and most celebrated cigar releases.

Among the highlights on display were the revamped La Capitana and 1888 Gran Reserva, both of which brought a renewed energy to Villiger’s classic lines. Visitors also got a first look at Villiger Cuellar Caribe, a tropical new blend joining the Cuellar family.

A Conversation with the Maker

During the show, we had the pleasure of speaking with Yasserth Reyes, General Manager and Blender at Villiger De Nicaragua. Yasserth offered a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration and craftsmanship behind Villiger’s new offerings—insights that only deepen the appreciation for the blends themselves. His passion for the tobacco, the process, and the story behind each cigar was truly inspiring.

A Partnership Built on Trust

Our creative collaboration with Villiger Cigars dates back to 2016, and we remain grateful for the opportunity to support their vision through booth designpackaging, and post-production content. Special thanks to Rene CastañedaMaria Cristina, and the entire Villiger team for their continued partnership and warm hospitality.

This year’s PCA booth was a reflection of Villiger’s evolving identity—grounded in tradition but always pushing forward with creativity and class.
