Project / Brand Identity, Packaging & Custom Cigar Bands
Client / La Rosa de Sandiego (American Caribbean Cigars)
American Caribbean Cigars’ (ACC) “La Rosa de Sandiego” made its debut at the 83rd Annual International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers (IPCPR) trade show in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event which took place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from July 17-21, 2015 set the perfect stage for the launch, as tobacco retailers from around the US and beyond, gather under one roof to do business with cigar manufacturers.
If you own and operate a cigar factory, it’s only a matter of time before you start rolling your own cigars. This is the case for ACC based out of Estelí, Nicaragua. ACC has been making cigars for other brands for several years now, but now is their turn to shine in the spot light.
The La Rosa de Sandiego line pays homage to an area of Cuba known as San Diego de Los Baños. On a recent visit to the island, Damian Tapanes President of ACC, took a snapshot of a vintage folder. That quick photo would serve as the inspiration for the design of La Rosa de Sandiego. Our first task was to take that black and white photo and create a full vector image out of it. Once vectorization was completed, we then proceeded to design the logo, cigar bands, inside box vista and the rest of the packaging/presentation. Our design templates were created to accommodate the Habano, Connecticut and Maduro blends.
We at Cigar Package Design are thrilled to be working on initial cigar brand project with Damian Tapanes and the great folks at American Caribbean Cigars. We look forward to more collaboration projects in the near future with them.
